A comfortable first leg 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen, Diego Godin isn't taking anything for granted against them at home however, as new coach Tayfun Korkut will try to give the German squad a boost to get back into the tie.
Domestically, Atletico are looking to hold onto the fourth place spot to secure European football, and in this edition of the Champions League they are once again looking to make another deep run.
"Atletico Madrid will approach the match the way it should be, by wanting to win," Godin said. "We are excited about the match and won't think about the first leg at all.
"It may seem normal to be on the verge of the Champions League quarter-finals, but we have to treat it with the importance it deserves.
"Jan Oblak's return from injury in goal will be another reason for optimism in terms of Colchonero chances towards progressing to the next round.
"He is one of the pillars of the team, and for a team to be champions, you need a keeper like Oblak," the Uruguayan defender continued. "Fortunately, he's come back strong from his injury.
"It has been a weird year for Atletico, and right now is when it counts."
