Experts continue to look for a solution to the health problems plaguing Borussia Dortmund ace Mario Gotze, with his father confessing that they are still in the dark about the situation.
The 24-year-old, who famously scored the winner in the 2014 World Cup final, has been suffering from a metabolic problem which has affected his muscle fibres.
"A decision will be made soon the specific treatment that he must undergo," Jurgen Gotze told Bild. "He is doing well at the moment.
"However, it is hard for him as the situation is a little unclear and he can get uneasy being at home and just waiting."
The condition has been diagnosed as a rare muscular disorder known as myopathy, leading Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to extend his best wishes to the midfielder.
Bayern signed Gotze from Dortmund in 2013 and he spent three years at the Allianz Arena before returning last summer and he has managed one goal in 11 games to date.
"If you have these kind of problems, we can only wish Mario all the best and hope that he overcomes it," said Rummenigge. "He's a very nice guy and we hope that he can get everything under control."
Dortmund announced that Gotze had been granted a leave of absence for an indefinite period of time in order to get the support needed to cope with the problem.
"He needs time to heal and to receive the best treatment in order to be able to return to the playing field at his best," said coach Thomas Tuchel on Friday.
