The Englishman now has 24 goals for the season, which equates to 48 points, putting him ahead of 23-goal strikers Ciro Immobile, Mo Salah and Edinson Cavani.

Lionel Messi's double against Girona means that he is still in the race and on 22 goals, while Luis Suarez's hat-trick has moved him up to seventh.
