France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has signed a three-year contract extension at Tottenham, the Premier League club has confirmed. The 29-year-old has been in talks with Spurs for more than a month over a new deal, but has finally completed fresh terms - committing his future to the club until 2022. The deal is a huge boost for Tottenham, given that a host of top European clubs have been closely monitoring his uncertain status. “I’m very pleased with this new contract," Lloris told Spurs TV. “This the way I show my commitment to the club, to my team-mates and to the manager, and to show again how much I believe in this project.

“Hopefully the best year is ahead . "I’m really enjoying my time at Tottenham and it’s a great feeling to be captain too. I think I can be proud of that. "It’s not easy for a foreigner to come to England and win the respect of your team-mate or the fans and the English people, and I’m really pleased with that. "But I’m still thinking it’s not enough, I want more and that’s why I work so hard."

Lloris' new deal offers another boost to Spurs recent drive to tie down their top talents to fresh long-term contracts. Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen have extended their deals in recent months, and Lloris' commitment represents another coup.
