As his rehabilitation process nears an end, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed he will not limp out of Manchester United, even if he has to walk on water to make that possible.
The former Barcelona forward has been out since April when he suffered an ACL rupture, yet he has already set goals for himself upon his Old Trafford return.
"I will not walk out limping, even if I have to walk on water, I will do it," he explained in an interview with Sky Sports.
"It was easy for me to say that I would come back, because I had never had the challenge of a major injury.
"All the people who said that it's over, or that I was too old, they motivate me and give me energy."
Manchester United signed Romelu Lukaku as the veteran's replacement in the summer, and also offered the 2016/17 top scorer a one-year deal until June 2018.
Ibrahimovic is clear in what he wants to achieve at Old Trafford in his final months with the club, although it will be quite a tough ask to unseat a rampant Manchester City at the summit of the table.
"The goal is the Premier League," he confirmed. "That is my ultimate goal, everything that I started in the first season I will finish in the second.
"I've come back to finish what I started, the end to season one was not what I expected."
His first season in England was one of varying success, despite finishing a lowly sixth in the Premier League, United did actually lift both the League Cup and the Europa League.
It was in the Reds' continental campaign that the former Juventus goal-scorer suffered his injury.
