Is Ibrahimovic considering Europe return with this statement?

1 month ago  Raphael   Sport News

Los Angeles Galaxy star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has commented on the reports linking him with a move to AC Milan. Most football fans feel that former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to MLS would signal the last of his illustrious career – or at least an end to his participation in top-flight European football – the Swedish great may be on the verge of an offer from one of his old clubs.
According to reports coming in from Italy, Italian Serie A side AC Milan are considering a January move to bring their former striker  Ibrahimovic back to San Siro from LA Galaxy. The idea is, for the moment, purely at the embryonic stage but Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has made reinforcements in attack his priority after a goal-shy start to the season and with the club’s two-fold demands in 2018-19: reaching the Champions League while also going as far as possible in the Europa League, with the semi-finals targeted as a minimum.
Milan brought in Gonzalo Higuaín on loan last summer and are happy with the progression of 20-year-old Patrick Cutrone while Spanish pair Samu Castillejo and Suso have been filling in to cover for Higuaín’s injury absence and were on target in a 4-1 victory over Sassuolo last weekend.
But given the demands of a full season with European and cup competitions to take into account, Gattuso feels he would benefit from the presence of a pure number nine and Ibrahimovic has been in scintillating form in the US, scoring 20 times in 24 appearances since recovering from a career-threatening ACL injury. AC Milan’s manager Gennaro Gattuso said on Wednesday.
Gattuso was also asked his thoughts on the possible return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic: “He turns 37 today, I send him the best wishes but I only speak about my players. Ask this question to Leonardo, Maldini or Scaroni. Ibra is 37 but he can still score goals.”
Speaking to TMZ, Ibrahimovic admitted that his possible return to AC Milan is not impossible: “There are always rumors”, Ibrahimovic said.
“The whole world wants me, it’s ok”, the former Sweden star said.
The Swede also has plenty of experience in Serie A. He spent two seasons at Milan between 2010 and 2012 and also represented Inter and Juventus from 2004 to 2009. The feeling at San Siro is that Ibrahimovic would provide an immediate solution and would take no time to settle back into his old surroundings although he is under contract in LA until December 31, 2020.
