Super Eagles and Gunners midfielder, Alex Iwobi has committed his future to Arsenal by signing a new long-term deal, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The 22-year old put an end to all speculations linking him away from the North London side, having been at the club since he was a schoolboy and has progressed to the first team.

Few weeks ago there were strong rumours linking the adopted winger to Serie A side SS Lazio but all rumours about moving away have come to an end now, which will help the player to focus well for the upcoming season.

“It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from young,” he told the club’s official website after penning the deal. “To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling.”

Arsenal new manager, Unai Emery also expressed his delight at seeing Iwobi commit his future to the club. “I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us. He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad,” Emery stated.
