It's just over three months, 100 days to be exact, since Jese Rodriguez swapped Real Madrid for Paris Saint-Germain, but the youngster still hasn't made his mark in the French league.
He's played a part in eight of the 16 games that Unai Emery has taken charge of, but started just one and still hasn't registered on the scoresheet.
That's nowhere near good enough for a striker who cost 25 million euros, even if his debut against Bastia was promising.
An appendicitis complaint ensured that he wouldn't play for about a month and then his substitution in his first game back caused an angry reaction which didn't go down well with Emery or the techincal staff.
In fact, since that point, the coach has refused to name him in the starting XI in any game.
Before the most recent international break, Jese had still barely played, and on three occasions that he did, it was for less than 10 minutes.
Certainly not the continuity that the player expected when signing and the press want an explanation.
For weeks, they've wondered why he lived in a hotel and after PSG's refusal to grant an interview with the player, Canal + is going to issue a report looking for the reasons that explain why Jese has not been at his best.
"In France little or very little is known about him," journalist Fred Traini noted.
"He has a rich, interesting, original personality, with a lot of talent and a chance to be a superstar, so this is a mystery to us all.
"For now it doesn't matter much because he barely plays and there are other issues to deal with.
"Rather it is Emery that should be questioned because if he asked for Jese's signature, then why isn't he being played?"
The player has been more discreet than ever and recently returned to take refuge in his native Gran Canaria.
But he must take a step forward now and prove himself to everyone.
