The Manchester United boss, 53, now rakes in £10m-a-year in endorsements on top of his £12m salary at Old Trafford. Mourinho has signed a two-year deal with HeinekenJose and Pep Guardiola will go up against each other for the 17th time. Mourinho will be the new face of the beer giants – the main sponsor of the Champions League – and is set to star in a new series of commercials.
The Special One will also become Heineken’s global football ambassador after signing a two-year deal. Mourinho endorses a number of products ranging from games to watches. He will deliver a team-talk style address to supporters, encouraging them to go to the pub to watch the Champions League. Of course, United aren’t in the competition this year and it is the first time since 2002/03 that Mourinho has been absent. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the advert was filmed in April – months before the Portuguese took over the Old Trafford hotseat.
Mourinho represents Hublot watches, Jaguar, BT Sport, Adidas, Atlantis hotels, Lipton Tea and EA Sports among others and is the most lucrative manager in the world. His United side take on rivals City on Saturday in one of the most eagerly awaited Manchester derby's of recent years.
