After an impressive first half display from Jurgen Klopp’s men in the first leg in which they scored three unreplied goals in which the Egyptians was part of the major threat for Manchester City defence.

Salah limped off with an injury very early in the second half of the first leg at Anfield and he was also absent for the Merseyside derby last weekend. The Merseyside red coach give an update about the Egyptian going into tonight’s game.

"Not sure, 100 per cent," Klopp confessed with an update.

"He was with the fitness coach yesterday training, now I am here, at 5pm we train at Melwood and we will see if he can be part of training.

"I'd say rather yes than no, then we wait for the reaction and make a decision tomorrow.'

With or without Salah, some have claimed that Liverpool's Champions League history could give them the boost over what Manchester City given their lack of success in the competition in the past.

"I don't think experience really helps, you have to make your own experiences," he explained. "But in the club, the mood is special at this moment. You can feel it. "It is not easy to be part of the normal life and feel and hear what people are saying about the excitement and importance of the competition.  "You feel that European nights for LFC are special, expectation is big.  "But we are not more experienced than the City players in this competition.  "We are trying to do our best to gain experience.  "Tonight is a big test for both teams."
