Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela insists he doesn't care about personal glory but only success at Naturena. Komphela recorded his first win over Mamelodi Sundowns since taking charge of Chiefs with a 2-1 victory at FNB Stadium on Saturday. The result lifted the Soweto giants to second on the log with 39 points from 22 games - two points behind Bidvest Wits, who have two matches in hand. Cape Town City (39 points), SuperSport United (37 points) and champions Sundowns (34 points) are also in the hunt for league honours.

Komphela said: “To be honest with you, I don’t wanna lie to you. I hear all what has been said and written but I ask myself, listen is it about you or the brand? “I don’t wanna lie to you. Sometimes when I say this to my players, they say, 'coach sometimes your statements are too brutal'. I tell them that even if they were to die now, so be it. So that at least there would be those to benefit on my death. “Even results like this, I have never in my life been chasing personal glory. If you are a man on a mission or a man working for an institution, it's not about personal glory. A victory today [Saturday], I am happy for the supporters. “As I said in the preview, who ever wanted to commit suicide before this match, driving back would wait and ask again when the next match is and they would want to buy a ticket. That's our misson,” concluded Komphela,  who is in his second season at Amakhosi following his arrival from Maritzburg United.
