Kaka: I'd tell Bale not to put pressure on himself

Four seasons at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu have put Kaka in a good position to understand the pressures of being a Real Madrid player.

It didn't all go according to plan for the Brazilian during his time in Spain as he suffered with injuries, much like Gareth Bale.

Kaka left the club just one day after Bale signed in September 2013 and he understands the Welshman's struggles.

"I understand the suffering that Bale goes through, but he has won three Champions Leagues, I didn't," he joked in a discussion with MARCA.

"I did great things with Madrid, so what I could tell him is to be patient with himself."Because he already has the pressure of the press, the fans and his teammates.

"Teammates won't pressure you, they encourage you, but when you are injured and you see them training, it's hard and it's a different type of pressure.

"Then, with all that, if you put pressure on yourself it's even more difficult. If he can, he must avoid putting pressure on himself.

"Nobody is exempt from injuries, they can happen to anyone."When they happen repeatedly you have doubts about your ability and begin to play against yourself, the worst enemy of an injured player is themselves."

Whilst he only spent one day as Bale's teammate, Kaka spent longer playing alongside superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The duo arrived almost at the same time, with his presentation coming just six days before Ronaldo's in the summer of 2009.

"I never thought he would go so far, I'm sure he didn't either," Kaka said."Five Ballon d'Ors, his goals for Real Madrid, you dream about a situation but it's impossible to dream of doing so well at this club.

"In the end he has stayed in Madrid and after a few years Ronaldo was achieving things but the club wasn't winning. Now he has helped them to win titles.

Furthermore, Kaka admitted he is a big fan of his former teammate.

"Cristiano is great and Madrid fans must be proud of him," he remarked."I had the luck to play with him for four years and I'll tell my children that their dad had the luck to play with Ronaldo, one of the best footballers of all time."
