Kiptum has thus claimed the $50,000 first prize for the race winner. Kiptum finished the race in 2 hours, 15 minutes and 20 seconds, beating compatriot Ronny Kipkoech Kiboss to second place. Kiboss finished in 2:15:25. Another Kenyan Kiprotich Kiroi came third, three seconds slower than Kiboss. Overall, Kenyans dominated the top 10 positions, where there are no Nigerians.
