Deportivo Alaves 2-1 win at camp nou will have been particularly sweet for ex-Barcelona player Kiko Femenia, who endured a tough time in the club's B team between 2011 and 2013.
Having impressed with Hercules - at 19-years-old, helping to win LaLiga promotion and to defeat the Blaugrana 2-0 at the Camp Nou in 2010 - the player was bought by the Catalan club for around 1.5 million euros in the summer of 2011.
Although he did well with Barcelona B in 2011/12, scoring five goals in 30 matches, he found his path to the first team blocked, which started to cause tension with the coaching staff and with the club's hierarchy.
As such, he departed the Camp Nou in 2013, pointing the finger of blame at the club for "ruining me emotionally."
In a true renunciation of the Blaugrana, Femenia's next stop was Real Madrid, where he linked up with the Castilla team.
However, he found it just as difficult to break into that impressive Castilla side and was let go by the capital city club following the 2013/14 season, after which he contemplated quitting football altogether.
That was when he crossed paths with Jose Bordalas and Alcorcon, a coach and a team willing to put their trust in the player, and he impressed so much at the suburban Madrid club that Bordalas brought him with him to Alaves the following summer.
It was in the Basque Country that Bordalas helped convert the winger into a right-back, a move which yielded great results for both parties and which helped Alaves to win the second division title last season - with Femenia featuring in 38 of their league matches.
Although Bordalas was bizarrely sacked in the summer, the now-25-year-old remained at the club and played an important role in Saturday evening's historic win with his pass for Deyverson's opener.
It will have been immensely satisfying for the player to have won another match on the Camp Nou pitch, even if it wasn't in a Barcelona shirt.
