Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Lantshene Phalane is confident the team can beat relegation and win the Nedbank Cup this season. Celtic are hovering precariously above the drop zone on goal difference with 19 points from 20 matches ahead of their next league assignment against Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on April 1. Phunya Sele Sele then have a last-16 date with National First Division outfit Mbombela United in the Nedbank Cup at Dr Molemela Stadium on April 9.

Phalane told his club's website: "Everyone wants to survive the chop and winning games must be our priority. We can do it, judging by the high spirit reigning in the team! Scoring goals is everyone’s responsibility and if we all believe in each other like it has been the case, we will reach the top-eight positions.” He added: “I believe in my teammates, management and supporters and if we remain bonded in fighting for the same goal, that of escaping relegation and winning the cup for the supporters we will realize our goals. My main ambition is to play for the national team hence the commitment but honestly speaking, Celtic is for now my main focus. We must do well first and the rest will follow.”
