Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick and Thomas Muller got two as Bayern Munich crushed struggling Augsburg to close in on a fifth successive Bundesliga title. Bayern dominated the game right from kick off and could have had the lead in the first few minutes had Thomas Muller not fired over. The Bavarian giants would go ahead when Lewandowski would volley a shot into the top corner after getting on the end of Alcantara's through-ball. Muller would then make up for his earlier miss, this time with Lewandowski turning provider. The game would get turned up after the interval. Lewandowski would grab his second before providing assist as well for Thiago. The Polish striker would then get his hat-trick with a header before Muller would get his brace from close range to complete the scoring. Bayern Munich are 13 points clear at the top with eight games remaining.
