Jose Mourinho has been eyeing improvements at right-back with Matteo Darmian set for the exit door. 

And Semedo has been linked with a move to Old Trafford to potentially fill the void. 

But Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha claim United may wait for the winter transfer window to make a move for him. 

This is because Benfica are apparently playing hardball over his transfer with the Portuguese giants wanting £44m for his services.
