Lopetegui considering Pedro return

8 months ago  Raphael   Sport News

On Thursday, Julen Lopetegui will announce his Spain squad for the upcoming international break, and Chelsea's Pedro Rodriguez could make a return if all goes as expected.
Gerard Pique too should be back after missing out last time due to injury, whereas Marcos Alonso's impressive play this year for the Premier League leaders should earn him a call-up.
Spain will face Israel in a World Cup Qualifier, before heading to Paris for a friendly against France, at the very same stadium they were knocked out of Euro 2016 against Italy.
With the Spanish national team staff already having reached out to Pedro, he'll join his club teammates Marcos Alonso, Diego Costa and Cesar Azpilicueta on the national level.
Even Cesc Fabregas could be given a call-up given his improvement this season under Antonio Conte.
Finally, Sergio Asenjo's injury means Sevilla's Sergio Rico could be given the nod as the third string keeper, although Alaves' Fernando Pacheco has also had a very good campaign thus far and has an outside shot at a spot.
