KickOff.com can reveal that Belgian coach Luc Eymael and Polokwane City have finally reached an amicable conclusion after a very public falling out. During a roller-coaster few months, Eymael quit Rise and Shine to join Bloemfontein Celtic, only for Polokwane to win their PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber case against Phunya Sele Sele’s signing of Eymael, who was ultimately ordered to return to City. The tactician went on to spend the past few weeks on the Polokwane sidelines, having no part to play in first-team activities as he found himself in coaching limbo.
However, following a meeting between Eymael and Polokwane City chairman Johnny Mogaladi this week, the two parties have finally smoked the peace pipe, although Eymael is in no way expected to remain with the Limpopo club for much longer. "I spoke fairly and honestly with the chairman [Johnny Mogaladi],” Eymael tells KickOff.com before boarding a flight back home to Belgium. "I apologised for everything that happened. A lot of things happened and I was not in good space of mind when I resigned. I recognised my mistakes and I got bad advice. “I am sorry again to the chairman, the club [Polokwane City] and the supporters,” he adds. Eymael has, however, revealed Polokwane City will allow him the chance to look for work elsewhere after their relationship was damaged following his resignation to join Bloemfontein Celtic. "The chairman has given me permission to speak to any club but that club must speak to him first. He has no intention of blocking me [from moving on],” concludes Eymael.
