Inter star Milan Skriniar has spoken to Tuttosport about his future at Inter. The Slovakia star is in talks to extend his stay at the club but Manchester United have also been linked with welcoming his services: “Everybody knows I want to stay at Inter. I have a good relationship with the club and with the directors. We are talking and an agreement is close, we’ll find the right moment to reach an agreement”.
On the possibility of Diego Godin joining Inter Milan he said: “He will add experience to our squad, he’s won many trophies and he can really help us to improve. I think the best defender in the world is Sergio Ramos. He’s won many Champions League and he scores many goals. I also like Van Dijk and I’ve studied Thiago Silva and David Luiz”. He also has this say about his National teammate LOBOTKA : “He can become a very strong player. He is similar to Torreira, I’ve already told Ausilio he is ready to play in Serie A”.
The Inter Milan strong defender also compared Former Real Madrid and current Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo with his teammates Mauro Icardi after having faced both players before: “When I was at Sampdoria I had to mark Icardi twice. He is a different striker. You may not see him for ten minutes but then he suddenly shows up and scores. It’s complicated to control Icardi because sometimes you can lose the focus. I think it’s ore difficult to mark him than Ronaldo. CR7 is quick with the ball in his feet but I think we limited him well in Turin”
Meanwhile, Inter general director Beppe Marotta has made contact with Wanda Nara to discuss Mauro Icardi's contract extension, Sky Sport reports. The Argentinean is reportedly willing to extend his stay at the Mezza although his salary request is close to € 9 million-a-year. He is currently on a € 3.2 million-a-year deal at Inter. According to Sportmediaset, talks are already at an advanced stage with the Zhang family who have been involved in negotiations. Inter could soon offer Icardi a new € 7 million-a-year salary and a new € 180 million release clause. Icardi's current 'buy-now' clause is € 110 million. The fee can be paid only by clubs outside Serie A.
Marotta, however, is not a big fan of release clauses and he will probably try to cancel it from Icardi's new contract although Wanda's desire is not to cancel but to improve Icardi's clause. Talks are ongoing.
