According to several English media, Manchester City want to make Pep Guardiola the best paid coach in the world and tie him down to a long contract.
Negotiations to renew won't take place until next summer.
At present, the Catalan is paid 15 million pounds (17m euros) per season, and if this new contract were signed, the Daily Mirror suggest it would be for 20 million pounds (22.6m euros) per year.
Over the expected four year duration of the contract, that would earn Guardiola 90m euros.
