According to reports in 90mins, English Premier League giants Manchester United could reportedly challenge Leicester City in the race to sign Eden Hazard's teammate in Belgian National team Youri Tielemans this summer after adding the midfielder to a seemingly long list of transfer targets. The Belgian international is seen as a perfect replacement for PSG bound Ander Herrera.
The Belgian midfielder is currently on loan at the King Power Stadium since joining the Foxes in the January transfer window from French side AS Monaco and has scored one and assisted four goals up till now.
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on signing Tielemans permanently but Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on the former Anderlecht star, who is valued at £40m (20 billion naira)by his club.
North London side Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the 21-year-old which could intern prompt Monaco to increase their asking price for the player ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The report goes on to state that Leicester have already opened talks with Monaco over a permanent transfer and are said to be open to offer Adrien Silva as part of an exchange transfer deal for Tielemans.
Asked about Tielemans' other options this summer, Rodgers recently openly said, "I can't worry about that. He's a top-class young talent. But I always have to respect he's a Monaco player. I'm sure there will be discussions between the two of us. He's certainly a player who I would love to continue working with. He's only going to get better."
Recent reports revealed that Ander Herrera has agreed a deal to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of the season. SunSport reported that the Spain midfielder is looking at a £150,000-a-week deal for three years and was expected to make the switch.
Herrera, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and was said to be unimpressed with United's offer of a new long-term deal. He has made 187 appearances for the Red Devils across five seasons in English football and been a crucial part to the revival of form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Old Trafford executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward gave Herrera - who joined from Athletic Bilbao for £29million five years ago and earns around £100,000 per week - an extension to his original contract last summer. But he has failed to tie down the former La Liga star, who can expect domestic dominance alongside the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes.
The move comes as something of a surprise given Ole's praise for Herrera. He has described his "energy and tenaciousness" as "vital" and hailed him for having "loads of energy". PSG are looking to reinforce their midfield in their second season under Thomas Tuchel - who it was rumoured could be replaced by ex-United chief Jose Mourinho.
They expect Adrien Rabiot to go and almost got Frenkie de Jong - ahead of Man Utd - as a replacement, only for him to go for Barcelona instead. United could also be in for a tough time trying to keep hold of Paul Pogba. The £89million man is wanted by Real Madrid "a lot" according to Zinedine Zidane. And Pogba, 26, has said the Bernabeu side are a "dream club for every player".
