Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he will revert to a "normal team" against Watford on Sunday after the Europa League defeat at Feyenoord. Mourinho made eight changes for the game and saw his side produce an uninspiring display as they lost 1-0. "It is obvious that we left players like [Antonio] Valencia and [Luke] Shaw at home to play and to rest," he said. United next play Watford in the league and Mourinho added: "We go back to a normal team without so many changes." Tonny Vilhena scored Feyenoord's winner late on, despite Nicolai Jorgensen, who delivered the cross, being offside.
The defeat condemned United to four successive European away defeats in a row for the first time and came on the back of a 2-1 loss to Manchester City last Saturday. Right-back Valencia and left-back Shaw were replaced by Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo at the De Kuip stadium. Ander Herrera, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Morgan Schneiderlin and Chris Smalling were the other changes as Wayne Rooney was also rested. United struggled to find a way through the Dutch league leaders and, in defence of some of those who came in, Mourinho pointed to their lack of game time so far this season. Pogba was on the fringes of the game against Feyenoord. Paul Pogba, however, had kept his place - but the world record £89m signing from Juventus struggled to make an impact against Feyenoord.
"I don't like to individualise too much," Mourinho said when asked about Pogba. "It's something I don't like. "I think he was like the team. In the first half they were in control but were playing half pace. "The second half was when they increased intensity and that was when they conceded the goal."
