Manchester United target wants long-term Chelsea stay

Willian says he is happy at Chelsea and wants to stay at the club beyond the length of his existing deal.

The 29-year-old’s current contract has just over two years left to run but no talks have started about an extension.

Willian has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth under Antonio Conte but the Brazil international wants to prolong his stay at Stamford Bridge.

“My goal is to stay here at Chelsea,” he told Paneta SporTV. “Unless Chelsea does not want me anymore – then I’d have to find another club.

“I want to stay here for many more years, if it is possible, to renew my contract. On that, we have not talked yet. It might happen. I’m adapted here.

“I will have been here five years at the end of the season, I’ve won titles, I think I have the affection of the fans too. “I intend to continue here until the end of my contract, to renew, and to continue for more years.”

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Willian since the end of last season with Jose Mourinho keen on reuniting with the hard-working forward.

However, Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January would appear to have put an end to those links, as well as Willian’s latest comments.

Willian has been in sparkling form of late, scoring four goals in his last four matches. In fact, the Brazilian has even been named the WhoScored Man of the Match in three of his last four appearances.
