Real Madrid won their second game in the La liga santander 1-4 against the Catalan side Girona with goals from Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema getting two goals.
The turning point of the game was when the Brazilian left back Marcelo was substituted by Julen Lopetegui in the 60th minute in which the full back admitted that he was suprise by the decision of the coach.
"I was surprised by the substitution but I respect the decision of the coach, I wanted to continue because I felt 100%," said Marcelo.
"We are on the right road and I am sure we are going to improve with each game. We played well today and we got the three points.
He also took time to talk about Juventus summer signing Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Los Blancos, revealing they miss the Portuguese ace.
"Cristiano is the best in the world so it is obviously we will miss him but Bale and Benzema are also very good."
On the debate over who should be in goal he added: "We have two very good goalkeepers, I am very happy for Keylor as he is doing very well."
