Real Madrid have been put in pole position to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma by some sections of the media but they will have to fight their way past Juventus to sign the AC Milan wonderkid.
After the Italian confirmed his intention to leave the Diavolo, Juve CEO Giuseppe Marotta threw his club's name in the ring as the battle for his signature intensifies.
"Yes, Juventus will try to sign Donnarumma," Marotta told La Gazzetta dello Sport before deliberately leaving plenty of question marks over when that bid could occur.
"At the moment no, but... "The hope is that we will eventually find an agreement between the parties. "When a top player is on the market, Juventus has a duty to try. He's a talent, he makes a difference."
Elsewhere on Juventus' radar is Douglas Costa with Marotta confirming talks held with the Bayern Munich midfielder, before adding that he's rejected Chelsea's approach for Alex Sandro.
"We had permission from Bayern to meet his agent and the player is available," he continued. "Let's see. Bayern want to sell him and the fee is adequate given supply and demand.
"We have received a very high proposal from Chelsea [for Sandro]. We said no. "But I reaffirm this principle: the player is the master of himself, and if he wants to go as Pogba did..."
