Lionel Messi admitted that he now plays more for the team than in the past when he concentrated on to a greater extent on his own game and scoring goals.

The Barcelona star spoke to America TV denied though that he runs less now.

"Before I got the ball and did my own game," he said. "Now I try to play for the team. That the ball goes via me more and I don't try and finish things off as much.

"Basically I am not as selfish. I try to build the play from a different position. "I continue to run the same as before but in a different way."
