SuperSport United defender Michael Boxall is close to booking a trip to the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the New Zealand national team. Boxall featured in the full game as the All Whites sealed their place in the Oceania play-off round after beating Fiji 2-0 in Wellington on Tuesday. The Kiwis sit top of their group, with an unassailable lead of 10 points from four games, ahead of New Caledonia and Fiji who still need to face each other. New Zealand could battle it out with Tahiti, who take on Papua New Guinea in their final group B game later today, for a spot in Russia next year.

The 28-year-old fullback completed two of the three matches thus far and, provided he remains injury free and keeps his place at Matsatsantsa, is expected to be part of Anthony Hudson's World Cup squad. Meanwhile, Jeremy Brockie will be looking to better his current tally of seven goals in all competitions this season, in order to return to the international scene, where he last appeared in November last year.
