Real Madrid wouldn't tick without midfielder Luka Modric, according to ex-Real striker and director of football Predrag Mijatovic.
In the Montenegrin's eyes, Los Blancos are one team with Modric on the pitch and one without him, such is his importance.
"We'll all cry the day Modric retires," he said. "When he played for Dinamo Zagreb I realised how great a player he was, and when I spoke with Mourinho about who he needed in midfield I suggested Modric."
"It makes me happy that he is such an important player at Real Madrid."
