Mikel joins Tianjin TEDA In First Training Session

Nigeria captain, John Obe Mikel who agreed a £140,000 a week deal with Chinese Super League club Tianjin TEDA last week, joined up with his new teammates at training on Tuesday morning in Seoul and quickly settled into the team to the delight of his new coach, Jaime Pacheco, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Pacheco believes the Nigeria international will bolster his squad  this season.
"We have two foreign players (Mikel and Zhou Haibin) who have joined the team and they are able to improve the team's strength, so we want to welcome them and hope that every player will be able to accept them,"  Pacheco meanwhile believes the Nigerian international will bring a new dimension to his team this season. Tianjin Teda finished 10th on the log last season and they will be hoping to better their record last term when they kick start their campaign. Meanwhile, Mikel has revealed that he sort the advice of former teammate Oscar before joining Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA reports Completesportsnigeria.com. Oscar joined Shanghai SIPG from Chelsea this transfer window in a reported transfer fee of £60 million more than double the amount the Blues paid for his services in 2012.
"Although I am not too familiar with the Chinese Super League," the former Chelsea star told Chinese daily teda.enorth.com.cn. "But I have learned some new things here this few days, and before coming to China, I asked Oscar for advice and he told me that I should come to China to play." Mikel was also pleased with the warmth he recieved on arrival. He continued: "The players welcomed me well and their attitude was very pleasant,"  "There's an harmonious atmosphere, the club executives are very satisfied.
