Monaco are in talks with Anderlecht for highly rated youngster Youri Tielemans after earmarking the midfielder as their top transfer target, reports Gianluca Di Marzio. The Principality side are still battling for the Ligue 1 title and will face Juventus in the Champions League semi-finals, but Leonardo Jardim’s side already have one eye on next season and securing one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

Tielemans won’t be without his admirers this summer but Monaco are reportedly determined to beat their rivals to his signature and are understood to be close to agreeing a fee and personal terms for the midfielder. The 19-year-old impressed in both legs against Manchester United in Anderlecht’s Europa League quarter-final clash despite the fact they spend most of the tie on the back foot.

In 11 Europa League appearances the teenager finished with an impressive WhoScored.com rating of 7.35 after scoring three goals from central midfield. The all-action midfielder averaged 1.9 key passes, 1.2 dribbles, 2.8 tackles and 1.6 interceptions per game in UEFA’s second competition.
