Neymar will not be leaving Barcelona for Manchester United or anyone else, according to Jose Mourinho.
The press and fans alike have long considered the prospect of the Brazilian leaving the Camp Nou to be one of the more titillating transfer sagas, although Mourinho considers negotiating a transfer to be akin to breaking a safe.
"It's speculation," the Red Devils boss told ESPN Brasil. "I always try to be objective and pragmatic with clubs and to ask them what they can give me. "To ask for Neymar is absurd."A club like Barcelona can not and will not lose Neymar."
Part of Mourinho's reasoning is that Lionel Messi will one day require a successor at Barcelona, and Neymar is ready made to fill that role.
"Although Messi is still a young player with years ahead of him, he's almost 30, and Neymar will be the great player of Barcelona post-Messi," he added.
"So much that I think it [signing Neymar] is like trying to break into a safe, impossible."
