As Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury that cut sort his time at Manchester United, coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that the club are in talks to re-sign the striker.
The 35-year old was injured in April following United's Europa League quarter-final win over Anderlecht, he then gave up his salary during the period that followed and eventually left on June 30.
The Swede spent one season at Old Trafford and during this time won the Europa League, the League Cup and the Community Shield while he also scored 28 goals and got nine assists during his 46 games.
"I just think he [Zlatan] was very clear by showing what he did last year was not enough for him. He thinks he can do more, he wants more at football's highest level," Mourinho said in his press conference before the opening day fixtures.
"So we are having conversations and we are discussing the possibility of him staying with us for the second part of the season."
"He's injured and he needs time to recover, he's not ready to play tomorrow, its not something urgent, its not something we are desperate to have done, or not done." he confirmed.
