Mourinho: Other countries care more about the Champions League

2 months ago  Raphael   Sport News

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has spoken out against what he perceives to be a lack of attention that the English football federations give to the winning of the Champions League.
The Portuguese isn't at all happy that there is so little time to prepare for European football's most prestigious competition, when coaching a top flight club in England.
"The Premier League and domestic competitions create a difficult situation for clubs," he told the Daily Mail.
"In this country, the Premier League is always the first competition, the institutions that manage it are very clear about that."

It's an attitude that Mourinho believes hampers the chances of the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Leicester to win the trophy.
"The last English champions in Europe were Chelsea in 2012 because the FA does not give sufficient rest - 24 or 48 hours - to allow teams to successfully tackle the Champions League match."ves hampers the chances of the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Leicester to win the trophy.
