Nesta: Simeone should leave Atletico

3 days from now  Raphael   Sport News

Diego Simeone has been advised to strongly consider moving on from Atletico Madrid this summer by his former Lazio teammate Alessandro Nesta.
The pair played together for three seasons in the Eternal City and won every domestic honour available to them during their time with the Aquile.
However, after a relatively disappointing season domestically and with their Champions League dream set to fall short once more, Nesta believes that it would be a good time for the Argentine to stand down.
"He has been there for six years and I think it is time for change," said the Italian to beIN Sports.
"He has done an incredible job but a new challenge for him could be good.
"I played with him and he's a great guy. He is different, he is passionate. He needs excitement every day to be at his best."
The former AC Milan centre-back also explained that he has been impressed with the job Zinedine Zidane has done at Real Madrid and revealed just how hard it is to succeed in such a high pressure position.
"I've spoken to Carlo Ancelotti about [that job] and he's told me how difficult it is to coach Real," he added.
"It isn't an easy job and the city is a difficult one to work in.
"You can have the best players but the pressure is always there to win.
"You have to win every game at Madrid, where there are so many journalists and people talking about the club every single day."
Nesta also touched on the recent controversy surrounding Pescara midfielder Sulley Muntari, who was subjected to sickening racial abuse in Serie A and believes the problems are widespread across society in his homeland.
"It is a problem that we have in Italy," acknowledged the 2006 World Cup winner.
"Ultras have political inclinations and some are fascists and some have old-style beliefs.
"In Italy, we are old-fashioned. The Italians are always talking about the Pope or the Colosseum but it is time that we stop the game immediately when this thing happens.
"We need to look forward. Come on, it is 2017. Please!"
