Four-time league champions, Kano Pillars will kick start the new season with a home game  against Federation Cup winners, FC IfeanyiUbah on January 15. NPFL champions Enugu Rangers will host oriental rivals Abia Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu in their first game of the campaign on Saturday, January 16 2017.

Seven-time champions Enyimba will face Sunshine Stars  in the key fixture of week-one on Sunday, January 17 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar. Rangers won the title last season ending a 32-year drought.
