The final paperwork to register Neymar as a Paris Saint-Germain player was processed too late for the winger to make his debut against Amiens on Saturday afternoon.
While PSG are hoping to rectify the situation, Ligue 1 have confirmed that the International Transfer Certificate arrived after the midnight deadline.
Speaking on COPE, Neymar's father also admitted that it didn't look good for the Brazilian forward, although he is set to be unveiled before the Parc des Princes crowd ahead of the match.
"I do not know if he's going to play, I do not have that power," Neymar Snr said. "I think PSG have not been able to register him, but I think it could be solved in a few hours."
