Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have named Super Eagles legend Joseph Yobo as assistant coach to Gernot Rohr. The former Nigeria international will be replacing home-based coach Imama Amapakabo.
Yobo retired from international football after the FIFA World Cup in South Africa 2014. He was the captain of Stephen Keshi's side that won the African Cup of Nations in 2013.
Yobo joins the three –time African champions’ technical crew which is led by the German boss Rohr.
During his illustrious career the versatile defender represented Nigeria in all category, playing in the FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Nigeria in 1999 and also turning out for the senior team three years later.
