It is no more news that the Super Eagles of Nigeria lost their first game against Croatia at the ongoing world cup in Russia, but the recent news to have come up to frame is how the players have been reacting to trolls and rants they’ve been subjected to from Nigerian fans on Social Media.
Some players have took it up to themselves by replying their followers in the same vein in which the Nigerian Football Federation board feels it is not a good thing to do. Speaking to a group of journalist in Saint Petersburg, Russia on Tuesday, NFF Vice president assures the fans the issue has been addressed and the fans will see changes.
“Personally, I don’t think that our players should react to people on Social Media,” Seyi Akinwunmi, the first Vice-President of the Nigeria Football Federation told journalists in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday.
“To the best of my knowledge, the issue has been addressed by those with the team in Essentuki (team base camp) and there’s no issue about that anymore.”
