Nigerian forward scores hattrick in his club's comeback win

3 months ago  Raphael   Sport News

Nigerian striker, Folarin Balogun who plays for Arsenal scored a hat-trick as the young Gunners came from a goal down to beat their opponent Blackburn Rovers 3-1 in their Premier League 2 Division 1 opener at the Lancashire FA HQ. Balogun is not the only Nigerian that started the game for the young gunner Tolaji Bola and James Olayinka joined him in the starting line up.
Another Nigerian who also featured is central defender Joseph Olowu who came back from injury and he replaced first team player Rob Holding 17 minutes into the second 45 minutes. Blackburn Rovers drew the first blood but Arsenal were level at the break thanks to a goal from Balogun, who almost missed a chance to level for his team. Joe Hilton saved his penalty but his rebound was duly slotted home in the 30th minute.
With few minutes left to the final whistle, the Nigerian sharp striker won another penalty for his team and he made amends this time around by scoring from the spot to give the young Gunners a 2-1 lead. The 18-year-old went home with the match ball after netting his third of the evening from the spot with almost the last kick of the game.
With his hat-trick against Blackburn Rovers, Balogun has now scored four hat-tricks for Arsenal youth teams in the U18 Premier League and Premier League 2 since the start of the 2018-2019 season.
