Oghenekaro Etebo joins Stoke City
Nigerian midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has joined Stoke City who will play in the second division next season after being relegated from the premier league last seasonThe former dream team IV member joined the Potters from Portuguese club Feirense on a five-year deal reportedly worth €7.2million.
Etebo, who started his career with Warri Wolves in the Nigerian Premier Football league, joined a Portuguese side Feirense in 2016 and made 45 league appearances, scoring seven goals. He was loaned out to a Spanish side Las Palmas in the second half of last season making 12 appearances, unfortunately the team got relegated but the performance of the 22-years old Nigerian didn’t go unnoticed.
“Happy to be a Potter! See you guys after the World Cup!” he wrote on Twitter hours after completing the switch to the Britannia stadium.
Etebo is among the Super Eagles 23-man squad that will take part in the world cup in Russia, he has been capped 14 times by Nigeria and came on as a substitute in the recent friendly against England at Wembley coming on after the break
