Former Nigerian youth international Chidebere Nwakali has joined Sogndal on a loan deal from Manchester City, the Norwegian club have announced. Nwakali was previously linked with four Bundesliga clubs in January, including Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg, but the proposed deals fell through.

The 20-year-old has had loan spells at Atlético Malagueño, Girona FC, and IK Start since joining City in 2015. Nwakali was part of the Golden Eaglets side who that won the FIFA U17 World Cup with in 2013. He is expected to make his debut for Sogndal when they face Sarpsborg 08 on April 4.
