Arthur Melo joins Barcelona

Barcelona has announced the deal of Arthur Melo, the Brazilian joins the Catalan side from Gremio for a fee of 31 million euros plus 9m euros in add-ons.

Arthur Melo caught the eyes of many European club suitors after a wonderful display in the 2017 Copa Libertadores in which the club from Porto Alegre went on to win.

Arthur's transfer goes through just days after Paulinho's departure and sees him take up the final non-EU spot in the Barcelona squad.

With a release clause of 400m euros, he comes on a six-year contract and is expected to head out to the United States with his new teammates for a pre-season tour in the coming weeks.
