Golovin joins AS Monaco

Monaco has announced the arrival of CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin on a five-year deal running until June 2023, According to who scored.

The former CSKA Moscow midfielder was a revelation at the world cup in his country Russia, he gave several standout performances for the host nation all through the tournament.

There were a lot of suitors for the young midfielder but Monaco was the lucky side to win him over after rumours have it that Chelsea were the frontrunners to sign the creative midfielder.

Monaco, who have reportedly shelled out a reported €30m (£26.6m) fee for Golovin which make him the third new midfielder they have signed this summer following the arrivals of Pele and Jean-Eudes Aholou from Rio Ave and Strasbourg, respectively.

The Ligue 1 side have been busy in this transfer window, having signed 10 players in this transfer window but Golovin is easily the most eye-catching of their summer business.
