Real Madrid's first-team squad are already be in Canada as they begin their pre-season tour, but Brazil International Eder Militao was in the Spanish capital at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu as he was unveiled as new Real Madrid player. Militão was presented as a new Real Madrid player in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabéu. The defender has signed with the club until June 30, 2025.
Having only just finished taking part in the Copa America with Brazil, the centre-back isn't due to report for training yet but he was presented to Bernabeu fans.
However, he was seen showing off his skills in front of Real Madrid fans at his presentation on Wednesday which commenced at 13:00 CEST.
This presentation has been a long time coming, as MARCA reported that he was a target for Los Blancos back on January 9 and his transfer from Porto was confirmed on March 14.
This is Real Madrid fifth signing of the summer after those of Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, Eden Hazard from Chelsea, Rodrygo Goes from Santos and Ferland Mendy from Olympique Lyonnais.
Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez at the presentation, welcomed the former FC Porto star to the club and reveals what the club is working towards this season.
"Today we welcome Militao, one of the great defense players in the world of football. “Zidane’s team is already preparing the new season, we are working to make a winning team".
After projecting a video with the best images of the player, President Florentino Pérez spoke: "We are happy because we welcome one of the best defenses in world football. A man who has just won the Copa América with his national team. You arrive at Real Madrid at only 21 years old, being champion of America and coming from a big club in Oporto".
"At Oporto you have shown your talent and your ability to live up to their demands and you have become one of the big stars in the Portuguese League. You have adapted quickly to European football and for five consecutive months you have been considered the best defense in the Portuguese League".

The Copa America winner, also had this to say at his unveiling: "Since I was a kid I wanted to play in Madrid, this shirt is in my heart. "I want to play a lot and make history with Real Madrid".

"I'm very happy to be playing for the best club in the world," he said. "It's through the help of my family that I'm able to play here and I want to thank the president for his confidence in me.
"The Madrid fans can be assured that I'll leave everything on the pitch to make history with Real Madrid."
