France international Olivier Giroud is prepared to part ways with Arsenal in the summer, should Arsene Wenger decide to strengthen his strike force. The 30-year-old has had a tough season with the north London giants this season with Wenger reluctant to offer him a regular start in the lineup. Despite being in and out of the first XI, Giroud has managed to hit double figures for another season, and he remains a fan favourite at the Emirates.
According to The Mirror, the Frenchman will assess his future in the summer, if the club are to move in for a new marksman. Arsenal are understood to be on hunt for a new centre-forward role in an attempt to rebuild the squad, and this could further hinder the first-team prospects for Giroud. Giroud currently has competition from the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and (the forgotten) Alexandre Lacazette for a national team berth, and he could move on in order to strengthen his bid to make the 2018 World Cup. French club Marseille are currently the leading candidates to sign the former Montpellier man, who has netted 16 goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season.
