Orlando Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa says today’s fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns is not about revenge – they are just focusing on doing well against their archrivals from Pretoria. Sundowns hammered Pirates 6-0 in an Absa Premiership game played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on the 11th of February. After Sundowns scored their sixth goal in the 82nd minute at Loftus Stadium, Bucs supporters invaded the pitch and clashed with Sundowns fans, resulting in several injuries.
Play was stopped for close to an hour before the last eight minutes were played, the score remaining unchanged at 6-0. “It’s not something [revenge] that’s on our mind. There's only thing that’s on our mind and it’s us doing well and see where we gonna end up when the season is over," said Manyisa. Manyisa added that’s there’s no point to prove against The Brazilians today, despite losing 6-0 in February. “There’s no point to prove. There’s no point to prove… they [supporters] must just come to the stadium and support us.” Pirates will host Sundowns at Orlando Stadium today, with kick off set for 15h00.
