A former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker, Michael Owen, has predicted that Chelsea will beat Brighton when both sides clash in Monday’s Premier League opener at the Amex Stadium.
Chelsea and Brighton played a 1-1 draw in a pre-season friendly last Saturday.
“Brighton is set for a pretty solid season in my opinion,” Owen wrote in his column for BetVictor.
“All eyes will be on Frank Lampard and his [Chelsea] team as he looks to bed everyone in quickly, so that they can hit the ground running from the start of the season.
“It is hard to see beyond a comprehensive victory for Frank Lampard’s Blues in this one, and I am going for a 3-1 win to Chelsea.”
The match is scheduled at 8:15 pm.
