Paul Pogba got Manchester United to a winning start away from home against newcomers Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.
The World Cup winner scored two goals the first which was a wonderful effort and second coming from a spot kick before giving an assist to Anthony Martial who put the icing on the cake to fire Mourinho’s men to a wonderful start.
Paul Scholes was happy to see the Portuguese smile after the game against Young Boys in which they came out on top.
Jose Mourinho has been largely criticized by the Football pundit after starting the season badly, but the former Manchester United midfielder was quick to reply ex-England striker Gary Lineker when he asked about Mourinho’s happy mood after the game.
“Good to see a smile on the face of Jose Mourinho Paul,” Lineker said.
Paul Scholes responded and said: “Yeah it is yeah. It’s a good performance away from home. “It’s never easy on a pitch they are not used to playing on. “A good 3-0 win, Pogba was excellent, two good goals.
“They’ll be really pleased with that, it’s important to get off to a good start and they’ve done that.”
Also present in the studio is another Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand who also had his say on the outcome of the game.
He admitted that the Swiss champions are not a tough task for the Red devils in the Champions League this season.
“Efficient. That’s all you can ask for,” Ferdinand said. “They wanted to get a positive result, keep the momentum going from the league form into the Champions League.
“Get a good start, put a marker down and they’ve done that. “I don’t think they’re in any great shapes Young Boys and we’ll see that throughout the tournament.
“But you’ve got to get the job done and Manchester United done that.”
Manchester United next game will be against Spanish Laliga side Valencia on the 2nd of October at Old Trafford.
