Pochettino: Kane is among the best players in the world

5 months from now  Raphael   Sport News

As Tottenham arrive at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, ready to do battle with Real Madrid on Tuesday, coach Mauricio Pochettino is in no doubt that his main striker, Harry Kane, has proved himself to be one of the best in the world.
Alongside players like Dier, Dele Alli, Eriksen and Hugo Lloris, Kane has been a sensation and now the north Londoners are looking to do something special in the Spanish capital.
"It will be a match to show our face and to be brave," Pochettino said.
The presence of the Argentinian on the Spurs bench was a decisive factor for Kane when turning down the riches available at Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.
A value placed in the team by Pochettino, rather than money elsewhere, has convinced other players to stay and support the coach's vision too.
In England it is considered a miracle that Tottenham have managed to hand onto their best stars, but everyone knows that it could be the last campaign that they are all together and further, that this season-long commitment is due solely and exclusively to the presence of the Argentinian on the bench.
The only option for them all to continue in the white half of north London would be the conquest of an important title, nothing else, not even the opening of the new stadium.
Dier and Kane were targets for Jose Mourinho and there was even talk about a proposal of more than 100 million euros for the striker.
"Our philosophy is that we want the great players," Pochettino continued.
"Those who have experience and we also like to give the possibility to young people who deserve it and have talent so that they too can become Premier League players,
"In England it is advancing in terms of attracting talent and the distribution is more equal than in Spain because all of the clubs have money.
"It's very hard to compete equally in Europe, but this is changing. "
One thing that the coach is crystal clear about is where the best players are going - or not.
"Messi and Ronaldo... Real Madrid and Barcelona already have them and nobody will take them away," he noted.
"But with the economic power that clubs have in England now, the next Messi or Ronaldo will play in Premier League.
"In fact they are already coming because Kane is among the best players in the world."
